He died in Scotland in 1847, predeceasing his son's emigration to South Australia.
Research Notes
- Parents brick wall: Alexander's parents are not confirmed in any vault source. The webtrees tree (Trevor Lawrie) does not extend beyond Alexander (I0001). A search snippet suggests his father was also named Alexander Lawrie and his mother was Janet Patterson, but no primary source has been located.
- Scotland-only: Alexander appears to have remained in Scotland his entire life. He died before his son John emigrated to SA in 1853.
- Name spelling: Lawrie (not Laurie or Lowrie) — consistent across webtrees and FindAGrave.
