Life Summary

Janet Dunlop was born in Scotland in 1811, the daughter of Robert Dunlop. She married John Lawrie on 20 February 1835 at Riccarton, Ayrshire, Scotland.

The couple had eight children in Scotland, four of whom died in infancy. In 1853, the family emigrated to South Australia, where Janet survived her husband by 14 years.

She died on 12 January 1902 at Alma, South Australia and was buried at Alma South Public Cemetery alongside her husband John.

Death date — corrected 22 Sep 2026 (was 17 Jan 1902). Three independent sources agree on 12 January 1902: her own FindAGrave memorial, the Lehmann Henschke family card, and the Ozburials Alma South transcription. The vault previously carried 17 Jan, which no cited source supported — the only "17" in the record was the Webtrees access date (17 Jun 2026), a likely derivation error.
