Gwendoline Victoria Telfer

Role: Second wife of Kenneth William John Telfer (1906–1970)

Born: 20 April 1910 in Millicent, South Australia.
Died: 18 September 1966 in Millicent, South Australia.
Parents: Robert Mewett Campbell and Nita Leah Mutton.
Spouse: Kenneth William John Telfer (her second marriage; he was previously married to Jessie Kathleen Sargent).

Gwendoline Victoria Campbell was born 20 April 1910 at Millicent (SA Birth Book 842/Page 210), daughter of Robert Mewett Campbell and Nita Leah Mutton. She first married Alan Theodore Downs on 5 December 1930 at Mount Gambier (SA Marriage Book 325/Page 514), and by that register was about 20.

After Jessie Sargent Telfer's death in 1954, Kenneth William John Telfer remarried. Gwendoline and Kenneth were married (the marriage sits outside the SA Marriage index coverage window, which is why no Telfer–Campbell marriage row is indexed). Gwendoline died 18 September 1966 at Millicent, aged 56, recorded on her SA Death register as Gwendoline Victoria TELFER with relative Kenneth William John TELFER (husband) — SA Death Book 17A/Page 6787. Kenneth's own later death registration (9 Nov 1970) records him as a widower with relative "Gwendoline Victoria TELFER (deceased wife)", confirming Gwendoline predeceased him.

• Two wives are recorded across the Telfer and Campbell/Brown family trees. Gwendoline is the second wife of Kenneth — identified via the mutual husband/wife [H] and [DW] relations on their respective SA death registrations.
• Her death registration is under her married surname Telfer, with husband Kenneth named — this is how her identity as Kenneth's second wife is established from the primary record.
• Gwendoline's first marriage (1930, to Alan Theodore Downs) is prior context; recorded here for clarity but she is linked in the tree as Kenneth's wife.
