Life
Sophia Webster was born on 18 June 1803 in Tuttington, Norfolk, England, the daughter of William Webster (1777–1816) and Susanna Hewett (1781–1850).
On 31 October 1825, she married Joseph March at St Michael's Church, Aylsham, Norfolk. Joseph was a carpenter and wheelwright from Aylsham.
Sophia and Joseph emigrated to the Colony of South Australia with their children aboard the ship Canton, departing London and arriving at Port Adelaide on 31 July 1846. The family settled in the Prospect area, north of Adelaide.
Joseph March died on 30 October 1883 at Prospect, South Australia, and was buried at North Road Cemetery, Nailsworth.
Sophia died on 6 October 1892 at Prospect, South Australia, at the age of 89. She was buried at North Road Cemetery, Nailsworth, City of Prospect, South Australia — the same cemetery as her husband.
