Life
Joseph was born in Aylsham, Norfolk in 1797 and worked as an agricultural labourer according to the 1841 England & Wales census.
He married Sophia Webster at St Michael's Church, Aylsham on 31 October 1825.
The family emigrated to the Colony of South Australia aboard the ship Canton, arriving 31 July 1846 with his wife and seven children.
He died on 30 October 1883 in Prospect, Adelaide and is buried at North Road Cemetery, Nailsworth.
