Beatrice Mary Dillon was born 8 September 1919 at Teatree Gully, South Australia, the youngest of the four children of Robert Telfer Dillon (1862–1942) and his second wife Mary Ann (Gelligen) Dillon. She married Joseph Robert Murray (13 January 1920 – 29 January 2004). She died 25 March 2006, aged 86, and was buried at Houghton Cemetery, where her parents and her brother Leslie (killed at Tobruk in 1941) also lie.
