Life Summary
David Parker was born on 29 June 1822 at Ragged Hill Farm, Tarbolton, Ayrshire, Scotland. He was christened on 13 July 1822 at Tarbolton, with parents listed as Hugh Parker and Christian Fulton.
He married Isabella Kelly on 9 August 1846 in Barony, Lanarkshire, Scotland. In the 1851 Scotland Census, he was recorded as a Victualler living at Wallace Street, Wallacetown, St Quivox, Ayrshire, with wife Isabella and infant son William H (age 1).
The family emigrated to South Australia in 1852 aboard the ship Martin Luther (arriving 4 May 1852 in Adelaide), travelling with wife Isabella and three children.
After Isabella's death on 6 July 1867, he married Clementina Minto on 20 June 1871 at Hailes House, Hackney, Adelaide.
He died on 4 April 1888 at his residence "Wheatlands", Hundred of Pirie, South Australia, aged 65, and was buried at Port Pirie Cemetery.
