Life Summary

George Sidney Gilbert "Sid" Stribling married Amy Farrow Stribling (nee Farrow), daughter of Charles Farrow and Elizabeth Hannah (Telfer) Farrow. The couple had three children: Annabel Doris (1894), Sydney Glenroy (1899) and Frank Hope (1901).

George died on 3 June 1901, aged 37, at his residence near Stockport, South Australia, after a short illness (pneumonia). The personal column of 14 June 1901 recorded that he was "well-known in the Wooroora District, though only a young man", and that the large congregation of about 400 at the Stockport Baptist Church attended a funeral sermon by the Rev. Jas. Barker. He was buried at Stockport Cemetery, Plot I 70, alongside (later) his widow Amy.

"Mr. G. S. Stribling, whose death after a few days' illness occurred early last week at Stockport, was well-known in the Wooroora District, though only a young man. The respect in which he was held was shown by the large congregation, about 400, at the Stockport Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, when the Rev. Jas. Barker preached a funeral sermon."
