Jenet Telfer

Born ~1770 at Sorbietrees, Roxburghshire, Scotland. Daughter of James Telfer and Margaret Armstrong of Sorbietrees. Died 9 February 1842 at Newcastleton aged 72. Name appears on the family headstone in Castleton Cemetery. Never married.

The Sister on the Stone

Jenet Telfer was born around 1770 at Sorbietrees, Roxburghshire, the daughter of James Telfer and Margaret Armstrong. She never married and lived out her life in the Scottish Borders. She died on 9 February 1842 at Newcastleton at age 72.

Her name sits on the family headstone in Castleton Cemetery, carved alongside her parents and siblings — one of the quiet threads in the Telfer story whose life was lived, marked, and remembered in stone.
