Life
Walter was the seventh child of William John Baker (1831–1919) and Sophia Baker (1829–1901), born at Port Gawler, South Australia on 1 February 1865.
He married Victoria Sophia White on 15 March 1893 at the residence of Henry White, Windsor, South Australia (Playford's Past). They had six children: William Henry Mark Baker (1894–?), Walter Douglas Baker (1895–?), Reginald Frank Baker (1899–1967), Annie Sophia Baker (1908–?), Thelma Ruth Baker (1910–?), and Edith Alice Baker (1913–?).
Walter died at Manly, New South Wales on 9 April 1937. His wife Victoria died 10 June 1943.
