Life Summary
Agnes Parker was born on 15 November 1853 in the Port Gawler district of South Australia, the third surviving child and eldest daughter of David Parker (1822–1888) and Isabella Kelly (c. 1825–1867). Her parents had emigrated from Ayrshire, Scotland on the Martin Luther the year before she was born, and the family settled on the Adelaide Plains around Virginia and Peachy Belt before later moving north to the Hundred of Pirie.
Agnes died on 31 January 1885, aged 30, in the Hundred of Pirie. Her father David was the informant on her death registration — he outlived her by three years. She died unmarried and left no children. Her younger sister Margaret died later the same year, on 19 September 1885, also aged 28 and also in the Hundred of Pirie.
