Life Summary

Henry Kelly Parker was born in November 1851, the second son of David Parker (1822–1888) and Isabella Kelly (c. 1825–1867). He was named for his mother's father, Henry Kelly of Glasgow — a naming pattern the family used again when his sister Agnes took a form of her mother's name. The family emigrated from Ayrshire, Scotland on the Martin Luther, arriving at Adelaide on 4 May 1852, so Henry made the voyage as an infant.

He married Elizabeth Robinson in 1879, and they had no children recorded on the surviving memorial record. Henry died on 20 November 1891 in the Hundred of Pirie, aged 40 — two days before his brother Hugh died in the same district, also aged young. Henry and Hugh were both buried at Port Pirie Cemetery. Their father David had died in 1888 in the same district and lies there too.

Date discrepancy, noted not resolved: the death registration prints 22-Nov-1891; FindAGrave prints 20 Nov 1891. FindAGrave's own commemorative-detail convention elsewhere in this family warns that the listed date "may be the interment date", which would make 22 Nov the burial and 20 Nov the death. Both records agree on the month, year, place and age. Recorded as 20 Nov 1891 (the death rather than the interment) with the registration's 22 Nov shown here so the difference is visible. This is a two-primary-source discrepancy, not a fabricated reconciliation.
