Family Stories
Frank was the eldest son of Francis Charles and Amy Telfer. As a boy he had a bad fall from a horse that injured his hip, leading to tuberculosis of the hip joint. He needed specialist treatment and spent time in hospital, which meant he and his sister Jean stayed behind at Saddleworth when the rest of the family pushed on ahead to the Eyre Peninsula. He later married Sylvia Merle Boal and worked the land. (From the Borders to the Bush, pp.131, 139)
